We’re excited to announce a great celebration event on Saturday 4th June 2022 for our community to come together and have a ‘right royal local knees up’.
Please find below useful information about the event. We can't wait to see you!
When is the event?
Saturday 4thJune 2022, starting at 12noon until 9pm
Where is the event?
The event is held at Mickleover Country Park Playing Fields, Merlin Way, Mickleover Derby DE3 0UJ, the home of Mickleover Country Park Football Club.
Are dogs allowed at the event?
Yes, dogs are allowed to attend, however we ask dog owners to be responsible for any waste and ensure that they are kept on a lead.
Is the event free?
Yes, the event is free to attend and there are lots of activities at the event that can be enjoyed for free as well as chargeable activities, rides, food and drink and anything you might like to buy from the stalls on the day.
Is there parking onsite?
No, parking is not available at the event or the surrounding area except for disabled parking for blue badge holders only. We encourage local residents to walk to the event.
Am I allowed to bring my own food and drink?
Yes, feel free to bring a picnic and picnic blankets/fold-out chairs. There will be a range of catering units on site for those who wish to purchase food and drinks. Please DO NOT bring BBQs or portable gas stoves. See ‘prohibited items’ list:
Am I allowed to bring alcohol?
Yes, alcohol is permitted. There will be a bar on site serving alcoholic and soft drinks.
Can I bring bottles/glass?
Yes you can, but please bring plastic where possible. We request that all waste is deposited in the appropriate bins or taken home.
Is there anything else I should bring?
We recommend you wear sensible shoes and bring waterproofs with you. The grass can become slippery in bad weather. Equally, if it is extremely hot, sunscreen and protective headwear is advised.
Can I bring my union jack flag?
Yes, the event is to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen.
Will the event be cancelled due to bad weather?
No, not unless we are advised that health and safety is at risk.

Fireworks and sparklers • Smoke or gas canisters (including aerosols and nitrous oxide) • Chinese lanterns • Megaphones & air horns • Sound systems • Naked flames • Flares • Weapons • Dangerous or hazardous items • Laser devices • Unauthorised items for trading • Anything that may be used as a weapon or compromise safety • Flagpoles measuring more than 1 metre • Drones • Illegal drugs including ‘former legal highs’ • Unauthorised professional photography or recording equipment, zoom lenses • Audio/visual or cinematographic devices • Barbeques including disposable barbeques, camping stoves • Flaming torches • Tents / gazebos / shelters
