Land South of Mickleover

Within Burnaston Parish, land to the south of Mickleover has
been identified by land promoters as a potential location
for a new housing development.

Proposals indicate that the site could accommodate 2,500 or more new homes, alongside associated infrastructure.

The Parish Council is not the promoter of the development and no planning application has been determined. However, due to the potential scale of the proposals and the level of public interest, this page has been created to provide residents with a central place for information, updates, and links.

This page will be updated as new information becomes available.

Location of the proposed development

The area referred to as South of Mickleover is located north of Burnaston village, positioned between Mickleover and Littleover, and to the north of the A50 corridor.

As shown on the map above:

  • The proposed development land lies immediately south of Mickleover

  • It sits east of Burnaston village and north-east of the Toyota Manufacturing site

  • The area is broadly bounded by existing major road connections, including the A516 and A50

  • The land includes areas currently identified as open countryside and agricultural land

The map highlights how the proposed site relates to surrounding settlements, existing employment areas, and key transport routes. Parts of the land fall close to, or within, the wider Burnaston Parish boundary, which is why the Parish Council is monitoring proposals closely.

This page is intended to help residents understand where the development is located, how it relates to Burnaston Parish, and how proposals may evolve over time.
