Parish Council Election for Burnaston

Silhouette of a hand placing a ballot into a box against a bright, white background. The scene conveys a sense of voting or democracy.

South Derbyshire District Council (SDDC) has confirmed that an election is being held for Burnaston Parish Council.

This happens when there is a vacancy on the parish council and a sufficient number of local electors request an election, rather than the vacancy being filled by co-option.

So what does this mean for residents?

It means local residents will have the chance to vote for who they want to represent Burnaston on the Parish Council.

When is the election?

Thursday 19 March 2026
